  • No — VAMOS BEM is a fully independent, 100% volunteer-run community organisation. We are not affiliated with the Portuguese government or any state agency. Everything we offer — documents, workshops, support services — is completely free of charge.

  • Use our contact form or reach out to a member of our team directly. Give us a brief description of the situation — a hospitalisation, an upcoming surgery, a recovery at home — and one of our volunteers will be in touch to discuss how we can help. Please include a contact phone number. All information shared is treated with complete confidentiality.

  • Yes. While our in-person support is currently strongest in Setúbal and Cascais, our webinars and downloadable resources are available to anyone in Portugal. Our Silver Coast WhatsApp community is also active and growing. If you’d like to see VAMOS BEM come to your area, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Absolutely. We currently deliver workshops in Setúbal and Cascais, and online for communities across Portugal. If you’d like to organise a live workshop — in person or via video — please contact us and we’ll discuss what’s possible.

  • Yes — and we’d love to support you in doing it. Our model is designed to be replicable. Get in touch and we’ll share everything we’ve learned about setting up a community from scratch. You wouldn’t be starting from zero — you’d be joining a network.

  • Our workshops and website content are primarily in English, as our community is largely made up of English-speaking expats and immigrants. However, we provide official Portuguese documents alongside English translations, and our volunteers include Portuguese speakers who can assist where needed.

  • We’d love to have you. Visit our volunteer page to find out about our four teams and how to apply. No special qualifications are required — just a willingness to help and a little of your time.

  • VAMOS BEM is currently entirely funded by the time and goodwill of our volunteers. We may explore donations in the future to help sustain and grow our work — but at present, everything we do is free and volunteer-powered.
